Dear David,
I enjoyed talking with you last evening and as a follow-up to our conversation I am propose the following:
Hands-on course with the title “The Art of Temporization- How to Create Temporaries that are Predictable, Durable and Look Real” For inclusion into a pre-course brochure How to make temporaries that fit exceptionally well in just minutes In aesthetics, the least important purpose of the temporary is to cover the prepared teeth Why the best temporaries are not cemented Learn to use tints that make the temporaries look real by creating translucencies, incisal halos, check lines, hypocalcifications and gingival blends Understand the importance of the diagnostic wax-up and why you need to know how to modify and enhance it to get the best aesthetic results To be successful in aesthetic dentistry, you must learn to listen to what patients want. See how the temporary stage is critical to hearing what the patient expects. How to reduce sensitivity in temporaries Why many patients will refer your next client while they are wearing temporaries Learn to see like an artist and have your patients see you as one.
I envision a morning lecture and a hands-on afternoon. The afternoon would involve starting with a model that has wax on it that the participants would modify slightly. They would need only a Hollenbeck carving instrument and a tooth brush. Having a few electric waxers (from Kerr) would be good to add a little wax if someone broke a piece of wax. As I talked about last night, these are “working diagnostic wax-up models”. Then we will need a prepped model for every participant. We can get a lab to create these duplicate models. Temporary material, tints electric handpieces to polish and a video system to display the participants work up on the LCD screen (and to have them follow me as we go through the process) are a few of the other items that come to mind.
I really think you could do 30-40 if you double up at a station. I also am amenable to doing multiples of the courses on this subject if there is enough interest.
I also have other hands-on type ideas if Summit is interested and finds the results from this course positive.
Thank you for the call last evening, David. I look forward to an interesting and fruitful experience together.
Best regards,
